Adorable Chloë Moretz covers the November issue of Interview Magazine. The 14-year-old actress talks to Drew Barrymore about a wide range of topics including her career, her brothers, her fantasy clothes and favorite film, but she also reveals five people she would like to have at her dinner table and the best key piece of advice she learned from the directors she worked with.
Speaking about Tim Burton, Chloë says that, “Oh, Mr. Burton . . . Well, that’s hard because no one actually, like, sits you down and gives you advice or anything, you know what I mean? But the thing with Tim is definitely the way that he really just focuses on his actors. If the actor says, ‘No, I don’t feel that’s right for the character,’ then he takes that so seriously — and not many directors do that in the same way. So that was a very special thing, working with him.”
In the cover story, Chloë also reveals that if she could blink and be anywhere at any time in the world, or in history, she would love the Elizabethan England. “I really love the Elizabethan era, so probably I’d be in Elizabethan England — like living in the countryside. Either that, or in France or something. Or Renaissance Italy,” she told Drew Barrymore.
Chloë also dishes on her favorite films. “A new film I love would have to be Black Swan [2020] probably, and an old one would have to be either Gone With the Wind [1939] or Breakfast at Tiffany’s [1961],” she says.
On five people she would have at her dinner table, dead or alive, the ‘Kick-Ass’ actress told Drew Barrymore that, “Yay! Okay, it would be you, Audrey, and then I’d probably put Marilyn [Monroe] there, just for some giggles and some funness. And I’d say Natalie Portman, too. And . . . How many is that? Three or four?… And Grace Kelly.”
As for her fantasy clothes, Chloë confesses that, “Oh, no! It’s like a ball gown or something amazingly huge and beautiful. It would probably have to be either, like, Valentino or Oscar de la Renta. And then if it was something beautiful that Audrey Hepburn might wear — you know, just perfect and cute and special—it would probably be either Givenchy or Chanel. And if it was crazy — like, amazingly psychotic — it would have to be Vivienne Westwood.”
On having four big brothers Chloë says that, “The best thing about having four big brothers is you always have someone to do something for you. [laughs] No, no. I think number one would be that they always protect me. There’s someone to turn to. It’s like having four fathers, basically, because they all super-duper take care of me.”
