Chloë Moretz Talks Fashion and College with Flaunt Magazine

Chloë Moretz covers Flaunt magazine and dishes on going to college, choosing her roles and playing Carolyn Stoddard in ‘Dark Shadows, a soon-to-be-released fantasy comedy film based on the 1966–1971 gothic soap opera of the same name. Moretz, Hailee Steinfeld and Elle Fanning are definitely three of the most influential teen actors of the moment. “I think we are just a smart young crop of girls who know what they want and they know how to do it,” Chloë told the magazine.

Even though she did some kid stuff, lovely Chloë now also shows her mature side by picking her roles. “I mean, yeah. I’ve done some kid stuff, but I mean I’m just driven to do stuff that is not ‘me,’ you know? … I just had a meeting with a director and I have three pages of notes on the psychology of the character and her thoughts and her past. It’s, like, as complicated as genetics,” she confesses in the interview.

On her role in the upcoming film ‘Dark Shadows’, the 15-year-old actress says that, “I play Carolyn Stoddard. She’s very open, but she’s weird. She lurks around a lot. But she’s just a hippie. A 1970s hippie. She wears the most ridiculous wardrobe and she dances a lot. I can’t say much else because my character… Uh, I can’t say anything. I wish I could.”

Speaking about meeting Johnny Depp, Moretz told Flaunt magazine that, “…and he was like [English accent], ‘So nice to meet you Chloë,’ and I was like, ‘Johnny Depp.’ And we had this little moment where I was like, ‘I love your necklace.’ He was like, ‘Thanks.’ It was funny, it was cute.”

On going to college, Chloë reveals that, “I’m hopefully going to Columbia University. I want to do a minor in Art History and major in Criminal Psychology. I find criminal psychology incredibly fascinating and scary and how volatile the human mind can be. And I really love classical art, definitely. I mean, I’ve been to so many amazing places in Paris and London, and I’ve seen some beautiful pieces.”

In the interview with Flaunt, Chloë also admits that she’s not going to do fashion campaigns. Well, at least not yet. “I’m not the Max Mara girl. I’m just the Face of the Future,” she says.

“I’m not doing campaigns yet. I want to wait a couple years, because I think if I do it right now, where am I going to go when I’m 20 and I’ve already done two campaigns or something? You know, I figure, why do everything so young and so fast? I’m only 15. Why rush everything? I’m saving a lot of stuff for later. A fashion campaign will come in due time,” Chloë added.
