The fact that Chris Brown and rapper Drake are not exactly best friends is not breaking news, but the fact that things degenerated when their entourages clashed in a NYC club made headlines. Apparently, Chris Brown, Drake and their entourage partied up in the same club and all hell broke loose when an argument began between Chris Brown and Drake. It seems that things spiralled down to the point the crews started shoving each other and bottles started flying. Chris Brown was hit in the chin as he posted a picture (which he later deleted) on his Twitter account showing off an ugly cut with the caption:
“How u party wit rich n&^$ers that hate? Lol… Throwing bottles like girls? #shameonya!”
According to TMZ, Chris Brown’s bodyguard and an Australian tourist who was just partying in the club, were rushed to the hospital after being hit in the head by the flying bottles. The two were pictured with their faces covered in blood and required stitches.
The name of the person who started the fight as well as the reason behind the incident are not yet known, but according to TMZ, Chris Brown is cooperating with NYC authorities who are investigating the case. Chris Brown’s rep said that:
“Chris, Karrueche [Tran] and his friends were victims of a brutal attack last night at W.I.P. They sustained several injuries. Chris and his party are cooperating with NY authorities who are pursuing this incident further.”
Sources tell TMZ that it was rapper Meek Mill who threw the bottle at Chris Brown, but the ‘Don’t Wake Me Up’ singer wrote via his Twitter acount that:
“Me and @MeekMill ain’t on that bullshit. Real respect Real….”
According to MailOnline, rumors have it that the brawl started after Chris Brown sent Drake a bottle of champagne. The rapper, who was rumored to have dated Rihanna reportedly sent back the bottle of champagne with the note “I’m f&^$ing the love of your life, deal with it”, and this is when things started to take the wrong turn.
According to TMZ, Drake’s rep stated that the rapper was not involved in the brawl and that the incident happened while he was leaving the scene. The official statement says that:
“Drake did not participate in any wrongdoing of any kind last night at W.I.P. He was on his way out of the club when the altercation began. [Drake] did not engage in any activity which resulted in injury to person or damage to property.”
So far it is uncertain what exactly happened in the club, but it’s likely the police will shed some light over the case as the incident is being investigated.
