Coco Rocha Slams Elle Brazil for Photoshopped Cover

Photoshopped magazine covers have been a subject of controversy for a long time and it seems that even the most appreciated women in the fashion industry can’t escape this apparent ‘must have’ as Coco Rocha proves by slamming Elle Brazil for the photoshopped work done on her for the magazine’s May 2020 issue.

The 23 year old Canadian bombshell turned to Tumblr to express her dissatisfaction with Elle Brazil’s decision to airbrush some of her clothes out in order to appear like she’s revealing more skin than she was actually showing during the photoshoot with acclaimed photographer Max Abadian. The magazine’s May 2020 cover reveals an all glam Ms. Rocha wearing an embellished Julian Macdonald dress from the designer’s spring/summer 2020 collection, a highly revealing dress featuring a design which exposes the skin between the breasts down to the navel. However, Coco Rocha, who is known for being quite strict about how much skin she shows, claims that she donned a flesh colored bodysuit under the dress, bodysuit which was according to her, edited out through airbrushing, despite the fact that Coco Rocha allegedly offered the team clear verbal and written instructions regarding the bodysuit. Ms. Rocha wrote:

Coco Rocha Slams Elle Brazil for Photoshopped Cover

“As a high fashion model I have long had a policy of no nudity or partial nudity in my photo shoots. For my recent Elle Brazil cover shoot I wore a body suit under a sheer dress which I now find was photoshopped out to give the impression of me showing much more skin than I was, or am comfortable with. This was specifically against my expressed verbal and written direction to the entire team that they not do so. I’m extremely disappointed that my wishes and contract was ignored. I strongly believe every model has a right to set rules for how she is portrayed and for me these rules were clearly circumvented.”

Coco Rocha, who is a strong supporter of the Model Alliance and has spoken openly on various occasions about anorexia in modelling, has never been shy to underline her values and apparently the fact that she decided to slam Elle’s editing team proves that this ‘tough cookie’ knows what she wants!
