Cory Monteith was found dead in his room at Vancouver’s Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel on Saturday. The news was confirmed by his rep: “We are so saddened to confirm that the reports on the death of Cory Monteith are accurate. We are in shock and mourning this tragic loss.” Though his cause of death is yet to be determined, there were no obvious indications of foul play. Reports say he died alone and that had been dead for several hours when he was found by the hotel staff.
The suspected cause of death is drug overdose since he was released from a rehab facility in April. The star admitted that he checked in the facility himself. The sad news took everyone by surprise from his two-year girlfriend Lea Michele and his Glee co-stars to other A-listers who got the chance to interact with the 31 year old star.
Of course, the biggest shock was for his girlfriend, Lea Michelle who was in Mexico when she found the news. According to a source, she was “shaking when she heard” and “is absolutely hysterical and completely inconsolable. She is devastated beyond belief.” The star who recently stated that no one knew her better than Cory asked for privacy during this difficult time. In a press release, her rep stated: ‘We ask that everyone kindly respect Lea’s privacy during this devastating time”.
Referring to his struggle with substance abuse that lasted nearly two decades, John Stamos recalled one of the last conversations he had with the star and tweeted:“We talked about how lucky he felt to be alive-and sober. We talked about playing drums. Glad i knew you Cory.” Fellow celebs expressed their condolences via Twitter. Nina Dobrev wrote: “I’m gutted. Shocked and saddened to hear the news, my heart goes out to Cory’s family and friends. Lets respect their space as they grieve.”Julianne Hough expressed her regrets by starting: ‘One of the kindest people I’ve ever met! My heart breaks for Cory’s family and loved ones… You will be missed and forever loved Cory!’

All my love to his family, friends & girlfriend. #TooSoon’ while Kaley Cuoco wrote: ‘Please tell me it’s not true… #CoryMonteith no words. Prayers. Thoughts w his family. This is terrible. Can’t speak.’
