Delta Goodrem lands on the July 2020 cover of Vogue Australia. The magazine caught up with the gorgeous Aussie singer-songwriter and pianist and talked about a wide range of topics including Nick Jonas, her relationship with Brian McFadden, being single again, ambition, and personal rebirth. “I feel like it’s a totally different chapter; I feel like I’m back to being me again,” she says.
In the accompanying interview, Goodrem also opens up and dishes on her split from former Westlife member Brain McFadden last year after six and a half years together. “There is so much I’d like to say. I was really unhappy and I didn’t know how to get out. I learnt. I got there in the end,” the songstress told Vogue.
After splitting from McFadden, Goodrem dated singer Nick Jonas from May 2020 to February 2020. “I only have good things to say about Nick,” she says. But now, the lovely star is single again. Speaking about her current status, Delta admits that, “I have so much love to give that it’s hard for me to say [no]. I’m very affectionate and so I’m just happy to be single and meeting different people and just enjoying being a 27-year-old.”
In the interview with Vogue Australia July 2020, Delta Goodrem also discusses her battle with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, which she was diagnosed with at the age of 18. “You look at the world differently, you get very dark colours and nothing can stay the same after that,” she says. “…I’m thankful for the depth it’s given me, the different perspectives.”
Goodrem, who appears on the Australian version of reality show ‘The Voice’ alongside Seal, Joel Madden and Keith Urban, also speaks about her perspective on life and her attitude. “My whole life, I did believe that anything is possible… I’m very calm but when it comes time to play and perform, it’s a different energy,” she confesses.
As when it comes to ambition, the singer admits that she now finds herself in a great position from where she can “take flight again.”
“You learn as you go and I think when you want to be the best in the world, like I do…” [A-ha! The best in the world?] “Yep, absolutely,” she says. “I know where I should be and I’m still only 27. I’ve had this wonderful, incredible journey with Australia and with different countries, but also due to my life, there have been lots of stops and starts, and so right now is the best time in my life to take flight again.”
