It seems that life is great for Demi Lovato now that she has finally kicked bad habits away after struggling with alcohol, bulimia and cutting, as according to an interview she gave Seventeen Magazine February 2020 issue, the Disney Channel star has finally reached a level of acceptance that enables her to not be ashamed of anything she does.

The 19 year old sweetheart also channeled her inner diva and posed stylishly for a spread in the magazine. Demi Lovato is known for her boho chic fashion style and for the shoot, Demi opted to be versatile and turned towards bohemian influenced as well as vintage chic dresses. With a new, more curvaceous body, Demi Lovato says she now feels very confident in her own skin as she knows that her body wasn’t meant to be stick thin.

Apparently, Demi turned towards a treatment clinic to deal with her ‘inner demons’ and health issues in 2020 and now the 19 year old actress/singer states that she’s clean and healthy. Demi told Seventeen that: “I’m not going to lie. I was self-medicating. I was doing things like drinking and using [drugs], like a lot of teens do to numb their pain. I don’t drink, I don’t do drugs, I don’t throw up after my meals, I don’t starve myself. There’s nothing that I do that I feel ashamed of.”

Not being afraid to speak out about her problems, Demi proves that with ambition and help, one can achieve that ‘inner zen’ that can stir life back on track. She tells Seventeen that she now thinks that being sober is much cooler than being under the influence. “I think sober is sexy. It’s cool. I think it’s way cooler to be above the influence than under the influence. Now on Friday nights, if I want to go hang out with friends, I go hang out with friends. If I want to stay in and be in the hot tub and have people over to watch movies, I do that. I have more fun doing that than I did making the stupid decisions that I did back in the day.”

Although she did most of the ‘work’ in getting back on the right track and becoming healthy again, Demi Lovato states that she couldn’t have done it without the help of her friends, particularly her two BFF’s, stars Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus. She tells Seventeen that: “No matter how many times we fight, we will always be in each others’ lives. Miley and I are very strong-headed, so when we fight, it’s brutal and we’re like, ‘We’re never going to be friends again!’ Then two days later, we’re like, ‘I love you and I miss you!”

On the other hand, Selena Gomez seems to be on the more calm side, as Demi Lovato states about her BFF that: “Selena and I never fight. She’s not a confrontational person at all. Both of them will never leave my life no matter what happens, because we’ve been through so much together.”

As far as her new healthy yet more curvaceous body, Demi Lovato seems to be pretty satisfied with what she’s got. She says: “I’m not supposed to be stick thin. My body’s not made to be that way. I feel like I have a good butt. I don’t have boobs, but I got a butt!”
