Vogue’s August 2020 issue celebrates women of all ages, from thirteen-year-old Elle Fanning to 96-year-old Ida Keeling. This time, Elle poses alongside her 17-year-old sister Dakota looking all styled up in retro clothes and flaunting their shiny blonde curls.

In the interview with the magazine, the young actresses talked about being in the spotlight from a very young age and growing up in show business. Dakota, who’s first significant role was the one in the NBC prime-time drama ER and which remains one of her favorite parts, says that this is the life they have always known. “I’ve been working since I was six, Elle since two. What you grow up with is what you become used to,” she told ‘Vogue’.

When being asked on the weirdness of being a teenager always in the spotlight, the abnormality of it, and if this ever gets on her nerves, Dakota said that, “When you choose to do this with your life, you’re in the public and people watch you. But I’d rather do this than not.”

As for Dakota’s little sister, Elle, she was named the new face of Marc by Marc Jacobs campaign. Besides, it seems that she is the one who loves fashion the most since Elle sketches her own clothing designs in her spare time. “I am in the normal range when it comes to clothes. Elle is not normal,” Dakota told the magazine.

Speaking on attending her first couture show in Paris, Elle says that, “It’s like a dream. They said it was the latest — or one of the latest — times a show ever started! The theme was ‘midnight in Paris,’ with shiny stars over the Place Vendôme. They re-created it, but with Coco on top of the column—everyone knew it was her. It was amazing.”

Both sisters have busy schedules. Elle is getting ready for the release of her two latest films, ‘We Bought a Zoo’ and ‘Twixt Now’, and she has other projects in the works such as ‘Vivaldi’, ‘Frankenweenie’, and ‘Anne Chambers’. As for Dakota, she can be seen in the final ‘Twilight’ movie and is working on ‘Very Good Girls’, ‘Mississippi Wild’, and ‘Now Is Good’. Besides, Dakota is also preparing for college as she was accepted at NYU where she plans studying psychology. The actress admits she is both thrilled and nervous about starting at NYU this September. “It’ll be different and scary but everyone does it!’ she said. ‘And it’ll be nice to have a space that’s just my own. I can have Hello Kitty ice trays and no one can tell me that I can’t,” the actress added.
