All grown-up Hermoine from the hit movies and books “Harry Potter”, played by Emma Watson doesn’t really like it when rumors surface and so she decided to shed some light over the reason why she left Brown University. Emma Watson wanted to get a sense of normality when she enrolled into Brown University, but it seems that things didn’t go according to the plan as she decided to drop out.
After the news came out, the media began speculating that Emma’s decision came because she was bullied over her fame. However, Emma says that the real reason why she left Brown is more personal and had nothing to do with bullying as according to her statement her co-eds couldn’t have cared less about her stardom.
Emma Watson told Sunday Times Style Magazine that the speculations raised by the media made no sense and that they couldn’t be more far from the truth. Emma shares with her fans the reason behind her decision by saying: “It made me so sad when all this stuff came out that I left Brown because I was being bullied,” “It made no sense at all. Brown has been the opposite.” “I’ve never even been asked for an autograph on campus. I threw a party for nearly 100 students and not a single person put a photo on Facebook…Anyway, even if I was being given a hard time, I wasn’t going to wuss out of university because someone said ‘Wingardium leviosa’ to me in a corridor, or ‘Ten points for Gryffindor’. I’ve been dealing with the media since I was nine. If I can’t stand up to a few people giving me a hard time, it’s a bit pathetic, really. I’ve had so much worse.”
So if she did have a good time and was actually experiencing what she was looking for, a sense of normality, why did she decide to leave?! Apparently, this is exactly why, as she is not just any girl, she is a talented, internationally known actress, and the entertainment business and normality don’t really go all that well together. Emma said: “I was in denial, I wanted to pretend I wasn’t as famous as I was. I was trying to seek out normality, but I kind of have to accept who I am, the position I’m in and what happened.”
It seems that Emma’s fame didn’t really help her in the romance department as well hence she says she didn’t have much luck in dating. She says she kept asking herself why doesn’t anyone pursue her and says the answer came from her friends which told her it’s probably because they are intimidated by her fame. Emma states: “It must be the circus that goes around me. Me, as a person, I find it hard to believe I would be intimidating.” However, we are sure Emma will definitely find an amazing person to grow old with, but until then she just has to go through the same dating process as everyone else.
