Jay-Z was viciously attacked by Solange Knowles last week, at the Met Gala after party. The shocking act was caught on tape by surveillance cameras at the Standard Hotel in New York and was unveiled by TMZ. Jay-Z, Beyonce and her sister Solange Knowles were together in an elevator when the altercation, which lasted for over 3 minutes, happened. The trio was accompanied by a bodyguard, who later intervened to stop the fight.
It is unclear what started the fight since the video has no sound, however, it seems like Solange’s range was unprovoked. Beyonce’s sister appears to be screaming at Jay-Z shortly before getting physical. The fight quickly degenerated and Solange is seen kicking and hitting the rapper with her purse, hands and feet while Beyonce stands by, apparently frozen, without trying to stop the fight. While the rapper tries to block Solange, he doesn’t try to attack her back.
During the incident, the bodyguard is seen trying to press the emergency stop switch presumably in an attempt to keep the conflict private before stopping Solange’s attack on Jay-Z. After the incident, the famous family attempted to mask the scandal and tried their best to pretend nothing was wrong. Interestingly enough, it seems like Beyonce left the Met Gala after party with her sister, while the hip hop star went home in a different car.
Meanwhile, the incident that happened at the Standard Hotel has triggered an investigation to find out who is responsible for the security breach that made Solange Knowles’ attack on Jay-Z a public matter. “We are investigating with the utmost urgency the circumstances surrounding the situation and, as is our customary practice, will discipline and prosecute the individuals involved to our fullest capacity.”, read the statement.
No official statements were made by any of those involved. The incident, however, sparked a multitude of creative responses on Twitter. While some were quick to call Solange Jay-Z’s 100th problem others made up headlines and came up with creative reasons why Solange attacked Jay Z so viciously.
