While this might have been a mixed year for Jennifer Lopez in terms of love life, the multitude of talents she has, her gorgeous features and her charisma has definitely been consistently appreciated and recognized. The People’s ‘Most Beautiful’ and the more recent ‘Woman of the Year’ titles given by Glamour magazine are just two examples that prove that the star continues to be an important presence in the media.
The sexy outfits she proudly shows off in the photo-shoot for the magazine disclose the reason why she is one of the most influential style icons. Classy yet daring and unquestionably sexy, the star talks about her style and how it evolved over the years along with its influence on her uber successful Kohl’s line:
‘The things I liked when I was, like, 16 and in the Bronx – jeans, cut-up T-shirts – I still like. But I’ve been exposed to so much now from traveling the world and seeing couture clothes. I used all of that when I created my new line for Kohl’s. My style has come from everything, from where I started to where I am today.”
Changing the subject and tackling more sensitive issues, the star shares some of the lessons that she feels are extremely important in the area of love and relationships: “I think I’ve finally learned the biggest lesson of all. You’ve got to love yourself first. You’ve got to be OK on your own before you can be OK with somebody else. You’ve got to value yourself and know that you’re worth everything. And until you value yourself enough and love yourself enough to know that, you can’t really have a healthy relationship.”
Her separation from her husband Marc Anthony has definitely been a shock when it was first announced, yet the media is eagerly trying to find out whether the star is ready to hit the dating scene again. The media exposure A-list celebrities like Jennifer have can make it hard to take things slowly when trying to explore the possibility of a new romantic relationship. Therefore, the starlet doesn’t exclude the possibility of trying to keep a new relationship secret, precisely for the reasons listed above: “I think to give something a chance, to really get to know somebody, you want to do it out of the public eye. You know the media—they want to rush everything.”
