Apparently Justin Bieber is facing a lawsuit that shocked everyone, as the 17 year old heartthrob is rumored to have conceived love child with one of his fans. The woman who filed the paternity lawsuit, Mariah Yeater, 20, is apparently seeking child support and a paternity test, but Justin Bieber says that he has never met her.
Justin Bieber denied the allegations on his Twitter account and avoided to make public statements with regards to this subject until this Friday when he appeared on the ‘Today’ show where he targeted the issue. The ‘Baby’ singer told host Matt Lauer that:
“I know I’m going to be a target, but I’m never going to be a victim. Every night after the show I’m gone right from the stage right to the car, so it’s crazy that some people want to make such false allegations. To set the record straight, none of it is true.”
Mariah Yeater claims that she got pregnant after having unprotected intercourse with Bieber post one of his concerts. She claims that she was sitting near the stage and after the concert a security guard asked her if she would like to meet Justin. She stated that:
“Immediately, it was obvious that we were mutually attracted to one another, and we began to kiss. Shortly thereafter, Justin Bieber suggested that I go with him to a private place where we could be alone. He also said he would give me his phone number after we had sex and told me he wanted me to be at his future concerts too and he would give me backstage passes.”
According to Mariah, after she found out she was pregnant, she tried to contact Justin Bieber but her efforts were in vain as no calls have been returned to her. Justin Bieber’s publicist also addressed the issue that has caused a stir among Bieber fans and stated that:
“While we haven’t yet seen the lawsuit, it’s sad that someone would fabricate malicious, defamatory and demonstrably false claims. We will vigorously pursue all available legal remedies to defend and protect Justin against these allegations.”
It seems that Ms. Yeates isn’t just confronted by the media but might even have to deal with the police as the laws in California state that having unlawful sex with a person who is under the age of 18 (Justin was just 16 when the alleged sexual encounter happened) and is not more than three years older than that person, qualifies as a misdemeanor and could face a jail sentence. A hearing has been set for December 15, so time will tell which one of the two parties is telling the truth!
