After winning the heart of thousands of young girls, teen star Justin Bieber seems to dominate the blogosphere too. The teen heartthrob became the year’s most influential Twitter Celebrity gaining the perfect score of 100. The 16-year-old Canadian singer released his first album “My World” in March and since then it has sold almost 2 million copies in the US. Bieber topped the list of celebrities as this year’s most influential Twitter celebrity, per a Klout study made for ‘Forbes’ magazine.
Bieber is followed by Brazilian novelist Paulo Coelho, who earned a score of 96. Joe Jonas, member of the pop-rock band, the Jonas Brothers, came the third with a score of 92. The klout score is compiled using an algorithm that takes into account 35 factors, including a celebrity’s number of retweets and followers. The higher the klout score, the more influential the celebrity.
Klout is defined as being a measure of the “impact of your opinions, links and recommendations across your social graph”. Bieber has more than 6 million followers which may have increase his klout score. Lady Gaga is in the 7th place on the list with a score of 89.6. Other celebrities that appear on the list are Kanye West (4th place), Dalai Lama (5), Nick Jonas (6), Conan O’Brien (8), Barack Obama (11), Kim Kardashian(12), Ellen DeGeneres (16), Angela Simmons (17), Katy Perry (18).
Justin Bieber also dominated the American Music Awards winning four prizes from four nominations including ‘Artist of the Year’ and set a record for being the youngest to hold the title. Bieber also won favorite pop/rock album, favorite pop/rock male, and the show’s breakthrough artist award.
