Kelly Osbourne and Matthew Mosshart have called off their engagement. Though things appeared to be going on their natural course, it seems that the new year caught Kelly Osbourne looking for new beginnings. The news about the split was confirmed by her rep who told People.com that the split was an amicable one and that the former couple would appreciate getting privacy on the matter.
“Kelly and Matthew have decided to end their engagement. The split is amicable and the pair continue to have nothing but the utmost respect for one another. Kelly is looking forward to a new year full of fresh beginnings. No further comments will be provided by all parties and we request privacy, decorum and space from the press but don’t expect it,” the statement read.
The couple seemed blissful during the winter holidays when the star shared a picture of her and her now ex finance playfully posing around a Christmas tree with no signs of trouble in paradise whatsoever, but it seems like the tone has changed quite a lot since then. On January 8, The Fashion Police host posted a cryptic message via Twitter, which in light of the breakup makes a lot more sense: “its all about perception sometimes the bad things that happen in life aren’t really bad at all especially when you learn something from it!,” she wrote.
Kelly and vegan chef Matthew Mosshart first met at Kate Moss’ wedding in 2020 and confirmed their engagement last year in July, during a romantic Anguilla holiday. The couple was looking forward to a traditional English wedding. Though she thought she has found her true love, a thing she stated on numerous occasion, including last month and even contemplated starting a family with him, it seems like this time it just wasn’t meant to be. Still, the positive attitude she is displaying should definitely help her embrace a new beginning.
