Lady Gaga’s Sister Interview With Teen Vogue

In the October 2020 issue, Lady Gaga’s sister Natali Germanotta opens up about several interesting aspects concerning her family life as well as her own desires. It becomes very clear from the beginning that she does not aim to emulate her sister fashion-wise and she even goes as far as describing her style as “witchypoo”.

Starting with the basics, she says that she calls her sister Stefi and that she feels no desire to start taking style notes from her sister. When asked if she would wear some of her sister’s clothes she makes a firm convincing statement: ‘Some of the stuff she wears I’d be like, ‘No, never.’ Having a world renowned celebrity as your sister can definitely make one stand out and Natali has sometimes enjoyed the attention to her advantage. Her high school graduation is a perfect example in this sense.

“She asked me, ‘Should I dress really conservative and look not like myself, or should I do it over-the-top and freak everybody out?’ And I was like, ‘The latter, definitely the latter. “The reaction of her teachers was expected yet priceless “The teachers were like, ‘Oh my God, I can’t handle this family’”.

Wondering how childhood was for her and her sister? She explains that their parents gave them the freedom to choose: “Ever since we were kids, my parents gave us the freedom to be ourselves” and goes on to say that they both developed their artistic skills: “Music wasn’t necessarily her thing, and art wasn’t necessarily my thing,” she adds.

Like her big sis, she has big ambitions and consequently she plans on working hard to reach her goals: “For now I’d like to stay in school,” and goes on to say: “for me, college is less about getting drunk and more about learning what you need for your career.” Although she doesn’t intend to use her sister’s influence to get ahead, Natali doesn’t exclude the possibility of working with Lady Gaga at Hous of Gaga.
