Hooray! Marc Jacobs announced that he is launching a beauty line that is set to hit the shelves on August 8. Ah, and our day just got better! The designer’s upcoming makeup line will be made by Sephora and it will come in a seductive and inviting packaging. “I am beyond excited for the launch of Marc Jacobs Beauty. The packaging is so seductive, so cool. The colors are gorgeous and inspiring and the formulas and textures invite you to ‘make-up’,” Jacobs said.
Speaking about his new makeup line, Marc Jacobs told Women’s Wear Daily that, “The ritual of waking up and making those choices is something people really enjoy. We currently are working on defining what Marc Jacobs cosmetics will be, what they’ll say, what makes them distinctive. I think that will take some time, but the first meeting was good.”
Well, until then, the designer already revealed that he’ll release a new summer scent called ‘Honey’ that will be available exclusively at Sephora in July. The fragrance opens with notes of green pear, fruit punch and juicy mandarin. ‘Honey’ features heart notes of orange blossom, honeysuckle and peach nectar and base notes of honey, golden vanilla and smooth woods.
However, it seems that all beauty addicts are more excited about Marc Jacobs’ beauty line. And the designer is too! “I always wonder, ‘Is there really going to be something else [other than fashion] that we’re going to do that I’m going to sit through and enjoy?’ I get jaded, then I get excited all over again,” Jacobs said.
The renowned fashion designer also explained that, “I see make-up, fragrance – everything, really – as an opportunity. The idea of choosing a color for your lip, or an eyeliner – it’s just such a delight. The ritual of waking up and making those choices is something people really enjoy.” He also unveiled a few details about his makeup line. “The Magic Marc’er Precision Pen Eye Liner is the deepest, glossiest, blackest black on the market and the Style Eye-Con No.7 palettes are each and all perfect for creating the character one feels like showing the world on any given day or night,” he said.
