The fabulous editorial created by Howard Huang shows rapper diva in colorful and fun postures. In Paper magazine’s Spring 2020 fashion issue, Nicki Minaj reveals a few important details about her new musical projects along with the list of her favorite style icons. Bright colored ensembles turn this chic pictorial into a sight-pampering experience. The latest issue will be available from February 20 and it features the interview of Nicki Minaj offered to the style guru and creative ambassador of Barneys New York, Simon Doonan. While working on the new album, ‘Pink Firday: Roman Reloaded’, the female rapper made time for this revealing discussion.
The interviews tackled numerous subjects. Nicki was eager to tell the fans more about her thoughts about world-wide success, “Ugh! I have been working sooo much. Success came and now that so many eyes are on me, I feel I have to deliver. And it’s a business. No joke. I guess I am stressing more than I should be, and I think I am becoming more guarded.”
Nicki also revealed the names of pop icons she admires for their unique and original clothing style, “Grace Jones definitely. So amazing. And Cyndi Lauper, I loved her right from when I was a little girl. And Janet Jackson of course. And Boy George. I always loved the way he dressed, and his music too.”
Simon Doonan also asked Nicki about her favorite trash TV series. The pop diva added that, “I love Big Ang! And I love the way those girls talk to each other: “Don’t YOU be coming at ME!!!” I love every freakin’ moment. And I watch The Real Housewives of Atlanta and Beverly Hills. Taylor and Adrienne and the girls.”
Finally, she is asked about the style of the new album. Nicki offered a few intriguing details about it, “The album is like a collage of all my emotions. I am not sticking to any particular style. I am doing what I feel without restrictions. So it’s very free and very me.”
We’re looking forward to listen to her unconventional and revealing album released in April, 2020.
