Looking sizzling in various designer dresses and sporting her signature short crop, singer Rihanna posed like a true pro for Annie Leibovitz’s lens for the spread in Vogue November 2020. The diva proved on numerous occasions that she’s comfortable in her own skin and that she doesn’t care what others think. In the interview with the popular magazine the signer opened up about numerous subjects including two controversial ones: Chris Brown, her ex-boyfriend whith whom she had a stormy relationship with, a very public split and smoking pot while attending the Coachella music festival.
Rihanna has never feared to expose herself as she is and the thing that bothers her is not true comments, but false ones. Rihanna has been snapped on numerous occasions smoking what appeared to be marijuana and she even tweeted a message in which she began with “kush rolled-up..”, but when she tweeted a picture rolling up a joint on her bodyguard’s head, rumors started to emerge claiming that Rihanna was actually doing cocaine. When asked about the brief controversy, Rihanna shatters any doubts by saying:
“They knew what it was. They knew it was marijuana. It was completely clear to them. I just thought it was uncalled for. I don’t do cocaine. I don’t like being associated with anything that’s untrue.”
Her celebrity status and her huge fan base come with a hard-to-keep-up-with schedule and even Rihanna confesses that she sometimes can’t remember her location and what day of the week it is: “I never know what day it is. Never, ever, ever”, the singer says. This also means that dating can be a bit difficult as despite rumors that she’s been dating Ashton Kutcher and more recently that she’s been flirting with Twilight heartthrob Robert Pattinson, Rihanna confesses that she hasn’t been on a date since ‘forever’.
“I have not been on a date in forever. Like two years. Haven’t gone to the movies, to dinner. Zero. I would love to go on a date. You don’t think that? I’m a woman. A young woman, vibrant, and I love to have fun. And I have too many va#$nas around me at this point. Seriously, all I want is a guy to take me out and make me laugh for a good hour and take my ass back home. He doesn’t even have to come up. All I want is a conversation for an hour.”
You’d think that celebs have it easy and that dating is not a problem especially for a diva like Rihanna, who’s not only drop-dead-gorgeous, but she’s also one of the most influential people today. So why is she single? Well, the answer is given by the diva herself as she says:
“No one asks. Trust me on that. I’m waiting for the man who’s ballsy enough to deal with me. I’m going to wait, though. You always find the wrong s*%t when you go looking.”
As far as the man that marked her her past and what it now seems to be her present, Chris Brown, Rihanna doesn’t care about what people say. This year she gave a tearful interview to Oprah, saying that Chris Brown was the love of her life, but it seems that her fans are still not ready to see the two together as there was immense backlash following each moment the two interacted. As far as whether she’ll talk about him for the rest of her life, Rihanna reveals to Vogue that:
“To the world, I feel like there’s no closure. There’s some obsession that’s continued even throughout when we weren’t friends or couldn’t be friends at all. Hated each other. The world hasn’t let go. They haven’t seen any progress in our friendship, because they don’t see anything, really, besides the song (Birthday Cake)…So now it’s a bit of a fascination, I guess. I don’t know if people will stop soon, but I feel like as soon as they have closure to it, they will. But they’re not on the inside. They can’t see what I see, unless they’re sitting in my point of view. I guess I’ll learn to accept that.”
The singer continues to talk about the brawl between Drake and Chris Brown (which has been rumored to have been over Rihanna), her career and more, so check out her complete interview and spread in the November 2020 issue of Vogue.
