Rita Ora launches British Designers Collective at Bicester Village on May 2. In it’s the fourth year the pop-up boutique’s theme is ‘Future Vintage’ and it will offer pieces from previous seasons on sale, a collection of iconic must-haves from British fashion history. “With many shoppers in the UK gripped by financial pressures the idea of ‘Future Vintage’ resonates. People want to invest in key pieces that can be worn season on season, year after year. At the British Designers’ Collective we want to introduce people to those designers whose acclaimed work will stand the test of time,” explained Caroline Rush, Chief Executive of the British Fashion Council.
Gorgeous Rita Ora, who will host the launch of the event, talked to District MTV about her new project and how she first got involved in it. “I’ve been going to Bicester Village since I was young, my mum and dad really loved that place and I always used to stock up on clothes. I love the fact that it supports great British designers, I’m a big supporter of British fashion, and so it just made perfect sense to be a part of the project,” the beautiful songstress said.
This year, there are some renowned names at at Bicester Village. Designers involved the event include Holly Fulton, Mary Katrantzou, House of Holland, Hussein Chalayan, JW Anderson , Jonathan Saunders, Noel Stewart, Meadham Kirchhoff, Nicholas Kirkwood, Peter Pilotto, Preen, Richard Nicholl, Roksanda Ilincic and Linda Farrow.
Speaking about the British Designers’ Collective at Bicester Village, Caroline Rush said that this is a great opportunity for people visiting it to purchase runway pieces at a fraction of the price. “The British Designers’ Collective is integral in introducing home-grown, up-and-coming designers and placing them alongside established labels for visitors to discover. Year on year, this initiative has grown and now includes some of the most exciting names the British fashion industry has to offer,” the Chief Executive of the BFC said.
“The British Designers’ Collective showcases emerging British talent in Bicester Village’s pop-up boutique concept store and allows visitors to take home something from the catwalk at a fraction of the price.
