She’s managed to land a sex symbol status and now ‘Modern Family’ bombshell, actress Sofia Vergara’ shows the world that despite the fact she’s closing in on her 40s and she’s got a son who just went to college, she’s still got what it takes to make heads turn as she lands the cover of Women’s Health South Africa July 2020. Sofia Vergara has been in the entertainment business for over two decades now, so no wonder that she’s used to the attention as she flaunts her hot curves for the camera lens of Matt Jones for Women’s Health South Africa like a true pro, so check out a selection of her spread and take a peek at highlights of her interview with the magazine as Ms. Vergara opened up about her battle with cancer, fame, being considered a sex symbol and seeing her son off to college.
Despite the fact that she’s won her share of fans throughout her 22 year career, Sofia Vergara reveals that her fame reached a whole new level after landing the role of Gloria in ‘Modern Family’. The 44 year old told Women’s Health South Africa that her career “changed a lot, of course. I’m much happier today that was before [laughs]. I’ve been in this business for 22 years; I was used to attention, but this show has taken it to a whole new level.”
Her flawless hourglass figure and delicate features helped Sofia get plenty of media attention as well as a sex symbol title, but it seems that although she seems very comfortable in her own skin, the actress says:
“Well, at my age it’s a surprise, no? I’m competing against girls who are 15 years younger than me. I’m proud to be competing against them. I think it’s great that I’m showing a little bit more of the Latin look all over the world.”
With her looks Sofia would put women half her age to shame despite the fact that she’s got a son who just moved away to college. She confesses that she’s having a bit of a difficult time adjusting to the change as she says “I think I text him every 45 minutes. I have to control myself. He doesn’t answer much. But I still text him. So I feel we’re connected.”
She’s a talented actress, a successful mom who manages to defy aging, but things weren’t always that great for Sofia who opens up to the magazine about her battle with cancer back in 2000. Fortunately, she’s won this battle as “I had radiation therapy. I was very lucky. My cancer wasn’t in a crazy stage; it was a coincidence that I found it – I had no symptoms or anything. But it changes you just to hear you have cancer” the actress says.
