If you thought that celebrity marriages were destined for failure, you couldn’t be more wrong as Hollywood’s powder couple, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith prove that it’s possible to be happily married after more than a decade. The couple is preparing to celebrate its 15 year anniversary at the end of this year and according to the actor, unconditional support was at the base of their marriage and ultimately this and their love for one another helped them push through difficult situations.
Will Smith told People that they consider family to be the most important thing, so this must have helped them form an unbreakable bond. The couple are parents to Trey, Will Smith’s 19 year old son from his first marriage, Jaden, 13, and Willow, 11. As far as parenting goes, Will Smith said:
“We make the effort to always put the family first. Being there for each other and being present with our kids is the most important thing. I take being a parent very seriously.”
Despite the fact that the two have been rumored to have hit rock bottom with their marriage, the couple proved the media wrong and dismissed the rumors as ridiculous. Will Smith said that their marriage is stronger than ever and that showed at the recent premières of the ‘Men and Black 3’ as the couple was seen holding hands and looking happy. The actor revealed to the publication the secret to their long lasting marriage by saying:
“What’s helped us is being supportive, no matter what the situation is. I’m so lucky to have someone like Jada. She’s really an incredible woman, wife and mother. She is just absolutely hardcore, like she absolutely is unfazed by the weight and the pressures of life. She is so calm and cool and easy in any situation. She can bear anything, and I just love that about her.”
