The new Elie Saab fall 2020 collection proved once again the genius of the renowned fashion designer who’s creations seem to describe perfectly the essence of femininity. For the new season, Elie Saab chose to maintain the same path to elegance he’s been on for the past couple of seasons for ready-to-wear fashion, by focusing more towards daywear designs. However, we don’t mean to imply that the brand’s signature glam dresses were no where on sight, they were present throughout the lineup but kept the glam factor more subtle as usual, probably to create a perfect balance that satisfies the need of the modern consumer.
Ready-to-wear? Definitely, as the Elie Saab fall 2020 collection made its debut with an array of office-chic somberly pigmented black-navy dresses and suit inspired separates that looked powerful, sexy and sophisticated altogether. The interesting thing about some of the day-dresses: the top to bottom zipper that was applied vertically on the back of the designs as well as the chiffon insertions, peplum details or subtle hardware belts that cinched the waist!
Gradually the atmosphere started to change and the temperature started to rise as the audience was gasping for air at the sight of the pulse-accelerating floor-length and midi gowns in richer colors like blue, plum, green-yellow and refined details ranging from embellishments to lace details, fabulous prints, all in the most luxurious fabrics that provided movement and helped create that deluxe, irresistible glamor that helped push the brand to fame!

To complete the circle, the collection gradually toned down the glam-level as it went back to daywear designs, the styles the show began with. Interestingly, the lineup featured shaped-to-the-silhouette midi dresses paired with bolero-inspired jackets and pant-blouse separates that were juxtaposed with cape-like coats to achieve an iconic look, sophisticated but relaxed, a combo worthy of the highest praise.
