Preview of Fashion Trends – Fall Winter 2020-2020
Good news everyone: for season Fall Winter 2020-2020, fashion designers are proposing some fabulous fashion solutions! First step is choosing the clothes’ cut having yourself as source of inspiration, then create harmony between clothes, hair and makeup. You’ll look gorgeous in an architectural outfit, with your hair pulled back tightly and makeup with graphic accents! If you’re in a romantic mood, opt for a vaporous dress with couture details, a relaxed curly hairstyle and a natural makeup. Fashion is reflecting personality, conceive your outfit by considering every element. You’ll have great fun with it!
Trend: Jet Black
Victorian, gothic, classic…black is a main trend in the cold season. After a short period of repose, it is coming back strong. Wear it as the Givenchy collection is proposing it: accessorize it with tons of golden chains and pendants or the embodied form of a little black dress with a bold cut as at Balenciaga’s.
Trend: Great Impact Colors
The top colors designers are proposing are intense red, royal blue and brilliant orange. An evening gown red as fire, an orange swingy cape, a sapphire colored vaporous and feminine chemise will be must-have items for Fall/Winter ’08-’09 season!
Trend: Bohemian Rhapsody
Boho style is refreshed, acquiring new ethnic accents and a more precious touch. Fashion’s crossing Eastern Europe, but also India, Peru and Mexico. The colors are merged into another, the cultures are combined, while imagination is blossoming. Wear with pride the traditional items of your ethnicity and mix it with other ethnic elements.
Trend: Eco Challenge
The awareness of nature was emphasized last season, but fashion designers continue to take their inspiration from the natural environment. Vegetal prints, green hues, earth tones, leather and fur are representing fashion designers homage brought to nature. Join the manifest for preserving the ecosystem and opt for organic fabrics and nature inspired prints!
Trend: Mad for Plaid
A bright colored pleated skirt will provide you a young and fresh look – see House of Holland outfit – a pair of woolen wide leg trousers will make you look very British – see at Tommy Hilfiger’s; the plaid chemise dress with a pair of of boots for a chic country look at Isabel Marant.
Trend: Lady Chic
This season knee-length pencil-skirts, casual dresses that emphasize waist, vaporous chemises, tailored jackets are must-haves! Soft colors used at Marni’s or Missoni’s are very fashionable this season. Pink, caramel, vernal, turquoise… the color palette is delicious!
Trend: In the Army
Buttons, epaulets, badges, medals; all these motifs are in great demand! Choose a high-rank costume, as at Givenchy’s, or opt for a khaki wool-coat as at Aquascutum. Another original look is to mix a military jacket with tight patent leather pants or leggings – see Collette Dinningan’s.
Trend: Architectural Shapes
Clear lines, severe appearance or architectonic and sculpted shapes assure you an ultra-modern look in an instant. Metallic accents point out the daring cuts. If you’re bold enough to pull this look off, purchase yourself a coat with a “strange” collar, just like the one at Jil Sander’s collection. You won’t be sorry – you won’t pass unnoticed!
Trend: Neo-Masculine
The look ‘a la Greta Garbo’ is more IN then ever! Opt for different looks: white suit with a superb cut like at Salvatore Ferragamo, a playful look inspired by Sonia Rykiel or a more masculine, sober approach, just like Karl Lagerfeld is suggesting.
Trend: Hot Couture
Much of the items proposed this season have a more studied and sophisticated aspect, worthy of an haute couture show, either elaborate embroideries, precious lace, brilliant appliques, origami details, flounces or volumes were used for ready to wear collections on the runway. The color palette is very subtle and includes nude hues, pale-pinks, beige, bright greys and black.
Trend: Transparencies
This is a difficult trend to wear – doesn’t have to be too much, nor too little. The “safest” to wear a see-through top is to wear it with a waistcoat, like Alexander Wang did, or with a micro-top same color as you skin.
Trend: Le Fur
Fox, mink, rabbit, lamb, chinchilla, sable or… ecological fur. Fur is a luxurious fabric that not many can afford. Cheaper options are collars, trimmings or cuffs of fur. Get inspired by Pollini or Missoni and you’ll look like a real diva!
Trend: To Lace, Or Not To Lace
Lace is not old-fashioned at all, nor unattractive! The Prada collection shows a beautiful example of combining romantic and sensual. Either you choose an extra long gown – see Mariella Burani – or you prefer a knee-length slim cut dress, you’ll burst sensuality!
