Acne’s fall 2020 collection is filled with uber-cool goodies! Created by Jonny Johansson, the line was the result of the designer’s unique collaboration with photographer Katerina Jebb and the Musée Galliera. And boy oh boy, the outcome was awesome! Using a scanner, Jebb created digital portraits, while Johansson handpicked rare and intricate museum pieces that were used to make photomontage prints that appeared on silk dresses and skirts.
Speaking about his Acne fall 2020 collection, Jonny Johansson said after the show that, “I saw coats that Napoleon had worn and one of Marie Antoinette’s dress – such beautiful and rare clothes. What I found was that the construction inside some of these garments was so exciting and extremely complex, I wanted to insert some of that spirit in the collection.”
Ah, but Jonny Johansson definitely loves to play around with shapes and layers! And the relaxed flare was absolutely fabulous! Well, the Swedish label certainly knows what a real fashionista needs and manages to always deliver wearable, hip and voguish pieces. And the latest Acne fall 2020 collection makes no exception. “We wanted to insert a historic element with what we do,” said Johansson, “We played a lot with tailoring, to get that effortless and layered feel.”
Okay so, we’re head over heels with the impressive range of wow-worthy and statement-making goods spotted in the new Acne fall 2020 collection. There were oversized bouclé tees, silk cardigans, baggy pants, gorgeously printed silk maxi dresses, loose coats, jackets and vests mixed and matched for a super-cool layering effect. The color palette in Acne’s fall 2020 collection featured black, white and brown as well as salmon pinks, sandy shades, eye-catching blue and red. And let’s not forget to mention those aww-inducing prints that drew all the attention. Well, just have a nosey and see it for yourself!
