Brooklyn Decker lands on the June 2020 cover of Flare magazine. The beautiful 25-year-old model-turned-actress sits down for an interview and talks about a wide range of topics including her style, muses and her love for fashion. After posing for Victoria’s Secret, American Eagle Outfitters and the cover of Sports Illustrated’s 2020 swimsuit issue, Brooklyn can now be seen playing in blockbusters alongside famous actors. Still, Decker definitely hasn’t forgotten her modelling days.
Speaking about her style, Brooklyn says that, “I like the tomboy look and military influences. I like things that have a little bit of an edge to them. I love a masculine spin on a feminine look. I’m trying to wear things that are tailored to me so you can actually see my shape but it’s like pulling teeth getting me to do it – it’s an evolution.”
Renowned for her stunning body, the young star also speaks with Flare about the pressures to maintain a flawless silhouette. Brooklyn confesses that, “It used to really bother me. And I used to think, ‘Why can’t I have that?’” On adoption, she says that, “We plan to have children some day. But I also dream of adopting a child with special needs. That’s in the distant future, but that’s always been a goal of mine.”
When it comes to her style icons, Brooklyn admits that, “Poppy Delevigne, she’s a fashionista girl, she does that really well, that whole boy meets girl look. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley I think has fantastic style, I love what she did last year with her whole transition [to acting]. Jane Birkin’s quintessentially French style but it’s still really comfortable, loose and cool. I love Lauren Hutton because she’s dressed very masculine, like she would wear suits on the red carpet.”
As on the designers that she loves, the 25-year-old beauty reveals that, “Miu Miu is probably one of my favourites just because it’s fashion with a sense of humour. It’s always a little bit quirky, and cheeky and I like that idea of having a sense of humour with fashion. It should not be taken so seriously all the time. I love Stella McCartney and Rag & Bone. I mean I’m also a massive Target fan and a massive Zara fan. Oh I love Chloé, speaking of, especially when Stella McCartney was designing.”
On her FLARE photo shoot, Brooklyn says that, “It was all very edgy which I don’t get to wear a lot, so for me it was really fun. [Liz Cabral] showed me designers and I’m like, ‘oh, that’s Peter Pilotto and that’s…” and she’s like, ‘how do you know all this?.’ I follow it so there was none that I didn’t recognize, but really, it’s FLARE, so they used a lot of really well known designers. And a lot of new ones too, like Altuzarra.”
