The Chanel cruise collection 2020 was held in the south of France, in Saint Tropez. This wonderful city has definitely proven to be a worthwhile source of inspiration for Karl Lagerfeld who managed to impress the audience with one-of a kind creations inspired from the glorious eras of the ’60s and ’70s.
The entire collection managed to emphasize the idea that simplicity and refinement can often outweigh complicated and elaborate designs. Airy fabrics and pastel colors dominated the the collection opened by Natasha Poly who wore a spectacular pastel printed dress. The models arrived on motorboats, many of them barefoot, giving the impression of total freedom.
Chemise dresses, tunics to tubular dresses and loose trousers paired with comfortable low heeled sandals were omnipresent being the ideal representation of the vintage style but with an fascinating modern twist. The accessories were elegant and discrete and emphasized the outfits without becoming the focal point of attention.
Of course this event would not have been complete without the Chanel ambassador, the French actress and singer Vanessa Paradis who choose to be very discrete. Diane Kruger was also present at the event and announced that she will be heading to Uzbekistan for her next movie after her short holiday in France. Franca Sozzani, Anna Mougalis, Carine Roitfeld, Emmanuelle Alt or Carine Roitfeld were also present on the show.
