The Elie Saab spring 2020 couture collection brought a stunning array of ethereal dresses, capable of making even the most unimpressionable fashionistas swoon. If some designers went on to explore new concepts meant to shock and provoke, the Lebanese designer didn’t stray from the formula that made him one of the most beloved couturiers in the world and brought a myriad of stunning ensembles that dazzle at the first sight. The designer, who seems to be in possession of a bottomless bag of creative ideas, took inspiration from the “The Roses of Heliogabalus,” the famous painting of Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema.
As always, the Elie Saab spring 2020 couture designs impressed through their impeccable craftsmanship, the multitude of delicate details and most of all, with their incredibly classy allure. The designer never seems to strive for being perceived as fashion-forward, but the dazzling gowns he brings forward always managed to reach the ‘breathtaking’ status. Floral prints and intricate floral textural motifs adorned some of the new line’s most feminine ensembles.
Though classiness was the common denominator of all the spring 2020 Elie Saab couture dresses, the designer didn’t stay away from stunning sultry accents that are sure to appeal to his more daring customers. Strategically placed sheer accents helped boost the sultry allure of the new gowns, while still leaving plenty of things to the imagination.
The new Elie Saab spring 2020 couture collection didn’t bring as much sparkle as the previous lines. Nonetheless, fabulous beaded details, sparkly bodysuits and fabulous proportions and the lightweight fabrics the talented couturier used were enough to steal the spotlight and irremediably fascinate the audience. The line brought an interesting mix of gorgeous ball gowns, stunning column gowns and exquisite cocktail gowns in lovely tones of lilac, rose, blue, ivory, peach, cream, black, honeysuckle and red.
The newest Elie Saab couture gowns are always a hit among Hollywood A-listers and the 2020 creations will undoubtedly be no exception, especially since the award season has just began. Last but definitely not least, the designer’s new creations are sure to be a wonderful source of inspiration for brides-to-be as many of the stunning ensembles could very well be a fashionista’s dream dress for the big day.
