Emma Watson’s People Tree Spring 2020 Collection

The 20-year-old star in the “Harry Potter” saga has shared the first image of her spring 2020 collection for People Tree. This is not Watson’s first collaboration with the British fair-trade label. In fact, after having worked on the past two seasons, this is her third collection for People Tree.

The latest collection for spring/summer 2020 is considered as being a more mature one and it includes dresses, blazers, t-shirts, skirts, and harem pants. Speaking about the new line, Emma Watson says she designed it last year after having started university in the US.

“I designed the collection last year after I’d started university in the US. Safia, People Tree’s founder, and Misato, People Tree’s designer, came out to work with me in Rhode Island”, says Emma.

She also added that “Together we decided on all the colors, fabrics, shapes, and craft skills. Most of all, we took care to design a really wearable collection that truly celebrates the traditional skills of People Tree’s Fair Trade groups around the world.”

The spring/summer 2020 People Tree collection is made from Fairtrade-certified fabric. In the first image of the collection, Emma Watson flaunts a very confident and mature attitude, wearing a short black dress and brown boots. Only nine items from this line went on sale and are available, but the entire collection will be officially launched on February 28, celebrating the Fairtrade Fortnight.

Emma Watson’s great interest in ecology, but also in Fair Trade and organic fashion is shown through this special collaboration. Last year, she has even gone to Bangladesh in order to see the whole production process.

At the beginning of the collaboration, in 2020, the team at People Tree said that they were quite surprised by Emma who proved to be really committed to this project. “I was amazed at how many hours Emma put into this collection. We’d often go to her home in the evening after she finished filming to go through ideas, or she’d come to the studio laden with her own artwork – it was extremely impressive,” said Safia Minney, founder of the brand.
