If there is one important trend for fall/winter 2020-2020, this is the military one. Therefore, what color would be more suitable than khaki. We have seen it at Burberry and Etro. Beige shades are also very trendy especially in the camel version at Lanvin and Chloé, or in nude shades at Gucci and Stella McCartney, and even in ivory white at Chanel and Calvin Klein. Black has been replaced with grey that has been made famous by Chloé, Stella McCartney and Nina Ricci.

Besides colors, we have a lot of prints such as ethnic (Jean Paul Gaultier, Anna Sui), leopard (Dries Van Noten, Emanuel Ungaro, Dolce & Gabbana), Fair Isle (Paul Smith, Marc Jacobs, D&G), and checked prints (Marc Jacobs, Dries Van Noten).

Camel in all its shades starting from cream to cappuccino is one of the key elements for fall/winter 2020-2020. This season, if a head-to-toe camel outfit seems to be too much, mix camel with denim or other autumnal shades, like copper, golden brown, red-brown or mahogany. We have seen it in the Chloé collection used for a comfortable, yet stylish combination between long camel coats and hazel pants. Different shades of camel have been presented at Dolce&Gabbana, Gucci and Prada.

Besides neutral colors, we also have strong shades of carmine red (Givenchy, Pucci, Sonia Rykiel), Bordeaux (Lanvin, Dior), or blue from cobalt to dark turquoise. Red is certainly a star color for fall/winter 2020-2020. Carolina Herrera is one of the many designers who chose red as the perfect color used to enhance the beauty of her elegant and feminine collection with inspirational elements from the ’60s-’70s. Red could also be seen at Marc Jacobs who managed to make incredible color combinations.

Colors and more colors were spotted at Lacoste who has played with two different sides. The first one was rather youthful using combinations of red, yellow and strong green, while the second one was more daring, but much more feminine with white, beige and gray tones. Another designer who used colors, but this time more natural ones, was Anna Sui. With a special collection revealing a comeback to nature and traditional elements, the designer uses shades of brown, dark green and dark red as basic colors. Besides these, different prints of ethnic inspiration and knitting are used to complete the collection.

Fall/winter 2020-2020 seems to be the season of military trends. Besides khaki and green, navy blue reflects a classic, severe and rigorous style. At Burberry Prorsum the combination feminine-masculine and tough-sexy reveals simple looks created by mixing navy blue blazers and sexy high-heeled over-the-knee boots. The navy blue blazer comes in different versions embellished by golden horizontal zippers and adding a feminine touch through sexy tights. Dries Van Noten uses navy blue in order to create a more classic approach making a perfect, elegant coat.

Pantone colors. Last year, Pantone has named turquoise as the color of 2020. Now, here are the colors that pantone has chosen for fall/winter 2020-2020: Endive, Golden Glow, Living Coral, Lipstick Red, Chocolate Truffle, Lagoon, Woodbine, Oyster Gray, Rose Dust and Purple Orchid.

Endive is a refreshing yellow-green that you can match with Chocolate Truffle, Purple Orchid and Lagoon.

Golden Glow is an earthy yellow that works great with Purple Orchid or Woodbine.

Living Coral is a tomato red that looks great when teamed with Lagoon.

Lipstick Red is a velvet-like red with a more sensual and dark shade.

Chocolate Truffle is a mysterious and elegant brown with plum undertones that looks “delicious” when matched with Purple Orchid.

Lagoon is practically the new turquoise and it’s a sparkly green working great with all shades of red.

Woodbine is a military green, which looks amazing in combination with Chocolate Truffle and Purple Orchid.

Oyster Gray is a pale gray with a sweet touch and is lighter than the gray shade we are used to during fall season.

Rose Dustis a feminine and romantic bright beige.

Purple Orchid is purple with fuchsia touches. It’s a special and different color for fall bringing some intensity into our lives.
