The Giambattista Valli fall 2020 couture collection is defined by femininity and romanticism. True to its sweet romantic vision, the designer came once again with an alluring set of ultra seductive offerings with an unapologetic ladylike allure.
The fact that ethereal feminine designs are the retailer’s specialty is well known, yet the new couture line reminded everyone just how resourceful the concept can be. Needless to say, not one of the new pieces from the line strayed from the elegant norm that defined the collection.
Like any great artists, Giambattista Valli used the work of other artist as inspiration for the new line. The intricate details and the incredible attention to details shared by some of Europe’s most important porcelain makers: Capodimonte, Sèvres, Meissen and Wedgwood each inspired motifs found in the new Giambattista fall 2020 haute couture collection. The delicate allure of porcelains inspired many floral accents. The label opted for many spectacular textural motifs, cornflowers, magnolia or hydrangea being just some of the motifs used.
Despite the dainty allure of the of the new dresses, the designer didn’t give up abstract vibes and contrasting structural accents. The Giambattista Valli fall 2020 couture collection might have catered to hopeless romantics and take its inspiration delicate porcelain sculpture, yet the accents it was based on were definitely contemporary.
Striking proportions, amazingly bold textural details, oversized coats, spectacular peplums are all specific elements of this year’s most interesting styles and trends. From spectacular short dresses to mesmerizing floor-sweeping gowns, the new Giambattista Valli fall 2020 couture line never failed to surprise.
The designer proved he knows what his clientele wants: mesmerizing dresses with a distinguishable romantic vibe. But, the new line was not limited solely to amazing gowns. The accessories were no less impressive, strengthening the believe that the designer’s creative resources are almost limitless. Ribbon belts in tarnished steel were used as a fab contrasting element that balanced the ultra feminine vibe of the new outfits. But perhaps the most unexpected choice accessories-wise were the tiaras featuring neo-classical elements like crescent moons that instantly added a sophisticated allure.
