Gisele Bündchen stars in new BLK DNM campaign photographed by the brand’s founder and creative director, Johan Lindeberg. “We drove together in that car to Brooklyn for the shoot,” Lindeberg said. “It’s an ’85 Mercedes!” The stunning Brazilian-born supermodel made the shoot without makeup or hairstyling. The brand’s guerilla ad campaign features Gisele Bündchen shot from behind in a pair of their skinny jeans, bent over the hood of a vintage Mercedes.

It seems that the famous Brazilian supermodel really enjoyed working with Johan Lindeberg. “I loved his approach because I feel like women should be really real and raw and it doesn’t really happen anymore [in fashion photographs],” Gisele told Fashionista. “I love that feeling of, you know, we are women – we are so different. Our imperfections are what makes us unique and beautiful. He gets that. He’s not trying to retouch you or put a pretty light on you. He’s not like, ‘You’ve got to look a certain way.’ He’s like, ‘You are you.’”

Speaking about the shoot, Gisele said that, “I really had so much fun because I feel like it’s so rare that you get to really express yourself the way you want to express yourself. Because you know, I’m a model, so you do whatever the designer wants. There’s a whole idea behind it. And here it was just about not looking perfect, but about looking real and authentic – no hair, no retouching — just going through what you feel.”

Gisele Bündchen and Johan Lindeberg celebrated their collaboration at BLK DNM’s Lafayette Street store where the guests could enjoy a series of gray-scale photographs the designer took to the gorgeous 32-year-old model. “Maybe it’s a little bit the dark winters [in Sweden], and both my grandparents were priests,” Lindeberg said about his style. “I like that kind of deeper expression, somehow.”

And in most of the pictures the model’s face is not displayed. “It doesn’t have to be a picture of your face,” Gisele explained. “It could be a picture of your hair, of your eye, of your hands, of your back, of your movement. It’s not about anything but a feeling. So it’s different and you can really play and it’s really fun to do that because in my job you don’t really get that opportunity.”
