Gwen Stefani to Launch Accessory Line for ShoeDazzle

The Gwen Stefani for ShoeDazzle collaboration was a well kept secret…until recently, when the e-tailer finally confirmed the rumors about an accessory line collaboration with the star and also revealed some of the styles that will be featured in the new line which launches on February 26. The new line will be known as gx by Gwen Stefani and will feature seven handbags and 24 shoe styles. The heavily pregnant diva, who is due any day now, looked at various sources of inspiration for the new line.

She told WWD.com that she looked at some of her past designs to find inspiration for the new line: “Whenever I design, I’m mixing different cultural influences and, always with the first collection of something new, I want to reflect on everything I’ve done in a way. This kind of sums up all of my influences. The key colors are black, white and red, so it is pretty simple, but it has a lot of details.”

The new line aims to offer fashionistas affordable but high quality options, a thing that proved quite a challenge for the L.A.M.B designer who usually creates accessories priced between $225 and $550. However, the alternatives comprised in the gx by Gwen Stefani line that will be available exclusively at ShoeDazzle.com will have prices between $69.95 and $110.95.

The star is a big fan of high heels, however, for the new line she focused on finding the right balance between comfort and style, and bringing options that would be easy to wear all day. “The really big challenge is to get a shoe to look sexy and be at a comfortable height, and I think that we did that with the sandals. When you do find a shoe that you can wear all day long that is high, that’s a really big accomplishment, and I try to do that. I am trying to make the perfect shoe that you can wear all day long,” she stated.

For the new handbags, things were a little more difficult as she avoided wearing handbags until her mid 30s given her preferences for tomboy-inspired look, but she is confident she found a winning formula with the new options.
