H&M and Alexander Wang Team Up for a Capsule Collection

An Alexander Wang x H&M collection is happening! The exciting news was revealed by the Balenciaga creative director himself via Instagram. The beloved designer will unveil his new line for H&M on November 6. The new line includes both men and women apparel, so both sexes will have the chance indulge in fab street inspired pieces.

The designer spoke highly about the new collaboration stating: “I am honored to be a part of H&M’s designer collaborations. The work with their team is an exciting, fun process. They are very open to pushing boundaries and to set a platform for creativity. This will be a great way for a wider audience to experience elements of the Alexander Wang brand and lifestyle.”

The feelings of appreciation turned out to be mutual. “Alexander Wang is one of the most important voices in fashion today. He understands exactly what people want to wear and does it with an energy and passion that’s infectious. It feels incredible to be collaborating with him this year,” H&M’s creative advisor Margareta van den Bosch stated.

Unfortunately, the exciting news wasn’t accompanied by any teaser of the Alexander Wang x H&M line, which will be launched in 250 stores worldwide and online. However, if we are to judge by the latest Alexander Wang spring 2020 and fall 2020 lines, chances are we’ll be seeing a lot of utilitarian monochrome pieces with a variety of edgy elements that instantly set them apart. Boxy cuts could also be part of the new line if the newest collections signed by the designer will be taken as reference.

Since the designer expressed his desire to bring ”elements of the Alexander Wang brand and lifestyle,” we might be seeing plenty of interesting accessories as well. Given the popularity of the brand, however, it’s quite safe to say that the H&M x Alexander Wang collection will start a frenzy similar to last year’s Isabel Marant x H&M line.
