H&M has unveiled pieces from the ‘Dragon Tattoo Collection’ that will only be available starting December 14, worldwide. Created by Trish Summerville, the designer behind the costumes of David Fincher’s version of ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’, the 30-piece women line features an array of effortlessly, cool goodies from edgy leather pants and ripped tees to tough biker boots and torn jeans.
All the items in this unique capsule collection perfectly reflect the look of the film’s anti-heroine, Lisbeth Salander, played by actress Rooney Mara. Dark and fierce with a rather tomboy touch, the ‘Dragon Tattoo’ line addresses to young women and girls who are not afraid to stand out through a distinctive personal style. “We put a lot of aged-in washes and finishes, which goes along the lines of the Salander character. In the film, her clothes are quite extreme. They’re really worn down, they’re dirty. So for us, it was taking that kind of concept and giving it more of a realistic fashion feel,” Trish Summerville said.
All the pieces in the collection are wearable and so versatile, allowing a myriad of mix-and-matching possibilities. There are burgundy or black leather jackets, comfy hoodies, loose t-shirts, coats, and tank tops scripted with the Swedish proverb, “What Is Hidden In Snow Comes Forth In The Thaw.” Take a look and choose you fave!
The new H&M ‘Girl With the Dragon Tattoo’ Collection is rife with comfy, hip, worn down pieces that will undoubtedly give a mega boost to your wardrobe. To strut into the mindset of the line, think tomboy meets goth-punk. Be bold and go for showstopping combinations! Besides all those incredibly cool clothing items, the collection also includes lots of one-of-a-kind accessories. “I wanted the collection to have the essence and strength of Salander, with a fashion edge, and I’m pleased with the result! My goal is for women to find pieces in it that they love and then mix them with their own wardrobe to create their own personal style,” Summerville said.
Even though the collection will only be available at all 180 H&M stores and online from December 14, a week before the film is released in the U.S., all those living in or visiting Paris can purchase the line at the high-priced edgy Paris boutique Colette starting November 28.
