The new season comes with a few pleasant surprises and some brands revisit the projects that once served them well. Prabal Gurung is one such example as the new season has brought old projects back into the spotlight. Prabal Gurung (Chief Designer) relaunches the ICB collection for fall 2020 and has a new set of stunning teasers to make us pay attention until September when the official premiere is scheduled. The new campaign features Katryn Kruger and Laura Kampman in a set of stunning images lensed by Sebastian Kim.
Modern touches dominate the campaign, an obvious creative direction that is noticed from the uber colorful artsy backgrounds. The New York inspiration is fairly visible to the trained eye and the options are both creative and interesting, mixing well with the newest offerings of most fashion industry leaders. We’re excited to see femininity reflected in a fun and classy matter, touches of edginess with the leather dress or a concern for immediate visual interest that doesn’t revolve around the usual animal print touches.
Femininity is still an important part of the label’s new season perspective, even though it’s not necessarily represented in the conventional manner with a lot of frills and conspicuousness. Surprisingly, the color palette varies slightly across the collection with dark, versatile tones being on the spotlight. For the most part, the pieces are also on the functional side with the put together sense being the one that becomes immediately noticeable. It will be definitely fun to see new ensembles marketed under the re-launched brand as the first images definitely point to the idea that the new project is destined for success.
