Karla Spetic always brings a breath of fresh air through her colorful and uber-cool creations. And the Australian designer’s fall 2020 lookbook exemplifies this perfectly. There are so many flirty pieces, delicious hues and feminine silhouettes in Spetic’s latest line called ‘And There Was Light’. And we definitely got our eyes on a few traffic-stopping items. Well, who doesn’t love some pretty embroideries or soft cashmere?
“When working on a new collection I usually have a character, a girl, in mind who embodies the idea behind the collection. This is really important in my work because it lets me become that girl escape into a fantasy world during the design process, in turn bringing the collection to life,” Karla Spetic explained in an interview with ladygunn.com.
So, are you gorgeous dolls eager to rock some of the hottest trends? Okay, with the zillion of clothes and accessories available online our mission of finding the perfect additions to our wardrobes becomes a challenge. Well, one of the designers that drew our attention is Karla Spetic. The Aussie designer brings season after season a riot of wearable and never-seen-before pieces for fashionistas who love to play around with their styling and try something a little bit different.
“It’s important to know what is current in the fashion world but it is sometimes hard to break away from being absorbed by it and being able to disconnect in order to focus on your own fantasy. This is why I don’t buy magazines as often anymore as I feel it leads to collective consciousness. I prefer for my creative instinct to lead the way and focus what is close to me and relevant in my mind,” Spetic said about following trends or being led by her own creativity.
The new Karla Spetic fall 2020 lookbook is filled with feminine and chic pieces such as lace dresses, crop tops, cashmere sweaters, oversized cardigans, shorts, blazers. velvet jumpsuits, and high-waisted clothes. Besides an achingly lovely fall color palette, the line also features pops of orange, gold, stripes and geometric prints.
Speaking about the role art plays in her sartorial approach, Karla Spetic revealed that, “I feel that art is very important in the fashion world. There is so much of it, which inspires my mood when approaching a collection. It’s often about the art and the artists as well- not just the by product of the work.”
