Lorry Newhouse Fall/Winter 2020 Collection

So here it is, Lorry Newhouse’s ultra-stylish collection packed full with modern interpretations of classic ideas. Just take a peek at her 35-style fall/winter 2020 line that features not just seriously glam sequined evening gowns, but also pencil skirts, short jackets and day-into-evening dresses. Oozing femininity and nuanced sensuality, these stunners guarantee maximum sartorial impact.

Newhouse was trained as a painter at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and studied fimmaking at Yale University. On becoming a designer, she said that, “While studying film at Yale I’d go with a group of girlfriends to Sal’s (Salvation Army) in our tall platform shoes and pocket books hanging from our wrists. This was the beginning of my vintage couture collection since Sal’s was the first of its kind. I later studied pattern making and corset work in Paris learning from the top fashion houses. I started my company first with gloves, and then tops, which evolved into separates, and day to evening wear.”

Oh how we love these fab eye-catchers seen in the Lorry Newhouse fall/winter 2020 collection! Speaking about the pieces she likes the most from her line, the designer told The Zoe Report that, “I have lots of favorites but the gold lame dress stands out for an evening piece. It has this incredible liquid gold look that is amazing. I would pair it with a very simple pair of gold studs and rhinestone encrusted sandals.”

The collection is made using meticulously-detailed, finely-wrought fabrics that beautifully enhance the silhouette. “The fabrics are what I am really about – so they are glamorous, beautiful, textured fabrics such as French brocades and Italian brocades,” the designer told WWD. “I want to support local manufacturing and I want to keep the district alive. That was my inspiration after all. That is what started me in this business.”
