This year’s MET Gala 2020 theme, Punk: Chaos to Couture seriously challenged the participants’ style comfort zone with some amazingly interesting results fashion and hairstyle-wise.

Sarah Jessica Parker knows how to steal the spotlight whenever she wants and the Met Ball 2020 was definitely one of those occasions. The actress made all heads turn in a fab Giles dress accessorized with custom Louboutin boots and Philip Treacey mohawk headpiece which complemented her complex hairstyle perfectly. She stated that she wanted to pay attention to the theme and she sure did.
While Beyonce kept her hairstyle on a relatively simple note, her dress was another matter altogether. The high impact black and gold Givenchy gown she rocked instantly attracted attention. Her high boots complemented her sexy gown perfectly.
Another fan of Givenchy was Rooney Mara who was accompanied by house’s creative director, Riccardo Tisci at the event. She wore Givenchy haute couture custom dress which complemented her skin and packed a lot of drama and sexiness.
A pleasant surprise of the evening proved to be Anne Hathaway who stole the spotlight with her new platinum blond short tresses and a racy vintage Valentino dress with plenty of sheer touches. The the black Valentino dress was designed over 21 years ago, it looked incredibly modern and edgy.
The MET Ball red carpet fashion also brought some original touches into the mix. Katy Perry didn’t stick closely to the theme, bringing her own version instead. She wrote that she’s channeling “the OG queen of PUNK, JOAN of ARC,” and opted for a Byzantine inspired dress taken straight from the luxury label’s fall 2020 collection. The gold crown highlighted the “queen” part of the look.
Jennifer Lopez waked on the red carpet in a body hugging long sleeved Michael Kors dress. While her gown was more sexy than punk, her hairstyle choice balanced things out and easily made her one of the most stunning appearances.
Considering her choice for her Met Gala 2020 gown, Katie Holmes never had a punk phase. Still, she managed to steal the spotlight by staying true to herself and rocking an amazingly elegant custom made Calvin Klein dress which emphasized her feminine side.
