As we prepare to see the first Paris Fashion Week fall 2020 lines, we can’t help but think about some of the lines we’ve seen in the second half of the Milan Fashion fall 2020 edition. Many collections seemed to confirm the style trends we’ve spotted so far, but through a unique style perspective. Masculine accents, subtle military vibes and animal prints seemed a popular choice for many labels, whether the designers focused on practicality or finding cool ways to make strong style statements. These labels brought an interesting mix of all of these elements:

The designer worked mostly with versatile tones of grey, black and white, keeping accent tones to a bare minimum. In addition to fine tailored suits, sporty yet classy ensembles and several interesting representations of the classic LBD, the new line brought one memorable accessory: oversized bowler hats, which added a hint of playfulness to the new looks. The Dsquared2 fall 2020 collection featured a multitude of youthful ensembles with an edgy twist. The masculine inspiration could easily be sensed in the new line, however, the creative duo opted for more casual pieces with a bold twist. The brand used the hashtag #perturbatedgirls to promote the new show and with that idea in mind, the great variety of eclectic ensembles seemed to make a lot more sense. Among the standouts from the new line were animal print coats and vibrantly colored leather jackets, shift dresses with fur stripes or 60s inspired column dresses. If there was one line at the Milan Fashion Week that revolved around animal prints it was definitely the Sportmax fall 2020 collection, even though abstract prints were also an important part of the new collection. The Max Mara -owned label brought a multitude of bold sportswear and masculine inspired looks with a youthful vibe into the spotlight. Military and equestrian influences could easily be identified in the new line which revealed a variety of chic leather coats, boxy sweaters, cool blazers and modern tunics. Military influences with an androgynous spin were also found in the new Ports 1961 fall 2020 collection. However, designer Fiona Cibani refrained from using patterns for the most part. Instead she brought a simple yet fabulous mix of alternatives that combined rigid structures such as masculine-inspired oversized coats with more fluid pieces such as chiffon skirts, for an interesting contrast. MFW Fall 2020 Trends: Masculine Influences & Animal Prints

The Giorgio Armani fall 2020 collection also had a significant dose of menswear-inspired elements, however, it was defined by a slightly broader color palette, featuring various shades of green, with lime green being the strongest tone used. Chic blazers, modern coats, minimalistic dresses, floaty skirts and a few animal print pieces were among the options that managed to steal the spotlight in the daywear section of the line, while simple strapless dresses and subdued one shoulder gowns proved to be the main choices for eveningwear.
