The first Naeem Khan wedding dresses for 2020 strongly reflect the fashion house’s trademarks: elaborate embroideries inspired by various cultures, stunning proportions and a high degree of sophistication. While shape, color and length-wise, the perspective was a fairly traditional one, pattern-wise is where the designer excelled as he took his inspiration from the various types of wedding venues; beach, city and garden and adapted his creations accordingly. Gorgeous floral and leaf motifs are the label’s suggestion for brides who love the great outdoors.
For romantic brides-to-be who are planning on celebrating their big day on the beach, the label brings gorgeous fluid shapes and soft detailing, while for brides-to-be who love the city life, the label brings both sleek modern alternatives and chic Art Deco – inspired motifs. Fabric-wise, the designer chose chiffon, gazar, organza and tulle and used his complex beading techniques to intensify the opulent allure of the new gowns.
The intention behind the new Naeem Khan fall 2020 bridal collection was clear: helping women celebrate “a once-in-a-lifetime moment” with “a once-in-a-lifetime dress.” The designer’s first attempt at wedding dress designing proved that he has an accurate knowledge of what women hope and dream when envisioning the perfect wedding gown, even when it’s not always clear how to put that vision into words.
