Do you stylish fashionistas know Natalie Joos? Well, if you’re not familiar with her name, you should learn it because the New York-based casting agent and fashion editor has all the chances to become the “new queen of street style”, as The Telegraph describes her. This time, Natalie is featured in Mango magazine’s November 2020 issue where she shares some of her style tips. But how does Joos describe herself? “I’m Natalie Joos and I’m a Casting Manager in NY. I also work as a stylist, photographer and writer, and I have a website called Tales Of Endearment. I got involved in the fashion world when I moved to NY. Six months later, I started working for Craig McDean, an acclaimed fashion photographer, and I became his Studio Manager. This is basically how I started out,” she told Mango.
Natalie’s style is colorful and playful and we must admit we love it. “If I had to describe my style in a few words, I would say that it is cute, sexy, feminine and full of colour,” Joos says.
During the fashion weeks Natalie became renowned for her bold and innovative outfits and outstanding combinations. “To prepare my outfits during Fashion Week, I concentrate on one garment, which I choose for an outfit, and I start working with it. It could be a shoe, a skirt, a sweater… Then I combine it, trying out different options. I choose the garments from my own wardrobe, although I also speak to young designers who I adore, who I have discovered, and this way I try to incorporate them into my outfits for the FW. I simply mix it up a little,” she reveals.
Talking to Mango, Natalie also shares some of her sartorial tips saying that it is extremely important to invest in clothes that suit you. “My first style tip I would give Mango customers is to buy things in the right size. Don’t buy garments that are too small, too tight, or too short. The idea is to be able to move around without feeling uncomfortable or being looked at,” Natalie explains.
Well, another useful tip that Natalie gives is to always play with your styling and mix and match at ease trying unique combinations. Oh, and be daring enough to add awesomeness to your looks taking risks with colours and prints! “The second style tip I would give you is to have fun with clothes. Go shopping, try different things, experiment with proportions different to the ones you are used to, with different colour combinations. Simply try, try different things, enjoy it, play with them and really have fun when you dress up,” the gorgeous Belgian-born casting agent and fashion editor told Mango magazine.
