Nicole Kidman has been announced as the new face of Jimmy Choo. The stunning 45-year-old Oscar-winning actress will appear in the famous brand’s fall/winter 2020 advertising campaign. The images for the campaign, set to be released in August, were shot by photographer Mikael Jansson and described as having “a cinematic feel that hints at the power and seduction of the Jimmy Choo woman.”
Speaking about her new collaboration with Jimmy Choo, Nicole Kidman, who has just finished filming the Grace Kelly biopic Grace Of Monaco, confessed that, “I’ve always loved fashion and often use it as a way to get into character. There is a lot of complexity, mystery and femininity to the Jimmy Choo woman.”
As for the brand’s creative director, Sandra Choi, she explained that, “I’m such a great admirer and feel enormously honoured to be working with Nicole Kidman. Nicole is one of the finest actresses in the world, who I knew could convey the empowered glamour of the brand. But she is also so nuanced and refined; she brings an attitude of defiance, strength, sensuality and elegance.”
This is not the first time the beautiful Aussie actress associates her name with a renowned brand. Kidman, who is part of the Cannes 2020 jury alongside Steven Spielberg, Ang Lee and Christoph Waltz, has also been the brand ambassador for Chanel’s No. 5 fragrance and appeared in the label’s ad campaign directed by Baz Luhrmann. The A-list actress has also been the face of Omega’s watches since 2020.
Sandra Choi was appointed sole creative director of Jimmy Choo shoes earlier this year. And it seems that she wants to make a change when it comes to the brand’s aesthetic. “It’s time to give this place a shake. Jimmy Choo is that sexy, strappy, stiletto thing – but it can be something else, too. [The new Choo woman] doesn’t need to get her hair done, and she has a sense of attitude which is, ‘You know what? This is me,’” she said. So, Choi reveals that the Jimmy Choo pre-fall 2020 range will offer something for everyone. Hardly wait to see the new goodies!
