The Oscar de la Renta fall 2020 collection brought a mix of masculine and feminine accents, interpreted through the label’s easily recognizable approach. For daytime, the designer opted for sharply tailored pieces with an eclectic vibe.
The designer used leather to add a modern vibe to an otherwise classic menswear inspired look. Fur details were used for a strong textural contrast and floral and geometric motifs were displayed for a strong visual impact. For the evening time, the designer brought stunning dresses in familiar shapes opting for a lighter, more feminine color palette compared to the first part of the line. The Badgley Mischka fall 2020 collection was inspired by royalty and the richness of Vienna. The idea of opulence was reflected through a variety of lovely gold tones and metallic accents, intricate embellishments, sequins and luxurious brocade motifs. Though the line featured plenty of dressy daywear options in stunning tones of black, bronze, pewter or burgundy, the evening dresses section was the one that truly demonstrated the designer duo’s talent in creating red carpet worthy pieces that can instantly make the wearer steal the spotlight. NYFW Fall 2020: Marchesa Fall 2020 RTW Collection
The Marchesa fall 2020 collection was an abstract representation of the Scottish Highlands. Though designers Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig cited elements like “foggy fields” and “grays from the skies”, the color palette and the motifs used had a much lighter and cheerful note. The duo focused on elongated silhouettes, feather and lace appliques, stunning crystal embroideries and even occasional fur trims for their stunning new season evening gowns which fascinate at the very first glance. NYFW Fall 2020: Jenny Packham Fall 2020 RTW Collection
The ’70s proved the fruitful source of inspiration for the brand’s spring 2020 collection and for the new Jenny Packham fall 2020 collection. The designer stated that her elegant new line was inspired by Bianca Jagger and her way of wearing eclectic pieces in an effortlessly glam way during that time. The designer chose a mix of delicate tones like rose pink, soft camel or light blue and bolder tones of red, coral and yellow. The glam Naeem Khan fall 2020 collection took inspiration from the world of cabaret. A decadent budoir theme could be easily identified as the designer sent a variety of bold and eclectic options down the runway. The line, described by the designer as “highly textured”, brought stunning animal print dresses, elegant gowns with sophisticated bead details so tiny that they had to be applied using surgical needles, fringe details, intricate baroque motifs or stacked sequins, offering very diverse solutions for his A-list customers with different style personalities.
