Like Erin Fetherston’s spring 2020 line, Deborah Lloyd’s new collection is inspired by the concept of garden party. The idea seems to instill a sense of optimism into the designer’s creations as she admitted that the new line is inspired by her travels and that she wanted to bring youthful yet elegant options. The new line is defined by chic vibrantly toned cocktail dresses, inspired from both the ’50s and the early ’60s. Making a statement was clearly the intent of the new line if we are to judge by the vibrant color palette chosen: attention grabbing coral tones, eye-popping fuchsia or bold red shades. For its new line, designer Jason Wu focused on “a dialogue between construction and ease”, an idea that brought an interesting shift in the designer’s perspective. Indeed, the silhouettes were more relaxed compared to previous seasons, however the focus on refinement and sophistication was still fairly strong, even though the new line brought several versatile pieces.
