PETA Protests on DKNY Facebook

PETA or People for Ethical Treatment of Animals is an American animal rights organization who’s motto “Animals are not ours to eat, wear, experiment on, or use for entertainment.” is highly supported by people all over the world. PETA has protested against animal cruelty with every occasion and their protest targeted fashion designers as well. One of the last protests of PETA seems to be against DKNY on the brands Facebook page but not only.

It seems that 13 different users of DKNY, supporters for PETA have collaborated to underline their disapproval for the brands use of bunny fur in the creation of the DKNY latest designs. The users have switched their avatar photo and left comments on DKNY Facebook wall so the word DK BUNNY BUTCHER was revealed on a vertical path. After this, users including the users who support PETA have left comments which underline their concern for animals and animal rights!

However PETA’s protest didn’t stop here, a few of PETA’s supporters have protested outside of Donna Karan’s New York offices carrying banners, skinned bunny pictures and wearing bunny suits which looked like skinned bloody bunnies. Now if this hasn’t made an impact, I don’t know what could.

The fashion industry has been highly criticized by PETA for the use of fur and exotic skins, for which animals have to die. Cruelty towards animals should most definitely be banned and PETA seems to be gathering more and more supporters to help protect these helpless creatures against the cruelty of people.

PETA has managed to create some fabulous anti-fur campaigns which feature celebrities wearing their own skin, so YES naked stating “I’d rather go naked than wear fur” which is meant to help people understand that animals don’t have to die to provide you with clothes!
