The hippie spirit of the 1970s ruled the Milan runways, with a wide range of elements, from floppy hats to retro floral prints and suede.
Adding a touch of modern chic to the seventies vibe, designers ranging from Gucci, Roberto Cavalli and Prada to Max Mara, Etro and Emilio Pucci all showcased groovy pieces that could end up defining next spring.
Denim
While jeans never really lose their place on the runway, denim is going strong as one of the major Spring 2020 trends from Milan Fashion Week. Dolce & Gabbana and Bottega Veneta shined when it comes to appliques on denim, while Gucci bet on all denim looks, including jumpsuits. The natural, no-makeup makeup look was a big deal in London and New York, but the Italian fashion shows only focused on neutral lips, usually adding brighter colors to the eyes.
