For their September issue, Vogue Australia decided to feature a plus size model for the first time in 52 years. The world and especially the fashion scene have been using mostly zero size models for their campaigns, but it seems that this is going to change as plus size models are taking over the spotlight. The model that captured everyone’s attention and landed the shoot for Vogue Australia September 2020 issue, is plus size model, Robyn Lawley.
The 22 year old model has appeared in various editorials and now it was time to spice things up for Vogue Australia which has drawn and end to its tradition of using tiny figure models. The ‘Belle Curve’ photo shoot is absolutely amazing as it features a flawless looking model transposed on film by uber-talented photographer, Max Doyle.
In the pictures Robyn Lawley is wearing sophisticated high-end outfits, donning luscious waves and stunning ultra seductive makeup. Apparently, it is her stunning beauty, naturalness and poise that has helped Robyn land the editorial with Vogue, causing them to bend and change their rules.
Vogue Australia’s editor, Kristie Clements said that the decision to feature Robyn into the September issue of Vogue had nothing to do with her size. She said:
“She’s really beautiful and you have to make the judgement about whether a girl’s special or not, so it really wasn’t about size or to make a statement.”
Ms Clements wasn’t shy about sharing her take on Robyn and wrote that she was “transfixed by Ms Lawley’s beauty and poise. She is a truly super-duper model. When a plus-size model first turns up to the studio, she may be an anomaly to a team normally used to working with size-6’s, but once photographer Max Doyle started shooting Robyn, we quickly readjusted our preconceived notions of beauty.”
Robyn Lawley who looks more than comfortable in her skin posing super seductively for the camera and with a high amount of class, is a size 14 model, and she has plenty to show. Check out the pictures in the new issue of Vogue Australia September 2020.
