Kapalbhati Pranayama:
This yoga asana is a breathing form wherein you oxygenate the body, strengthening the abdomen and stomach muscles at the same time. This yoga asana will give the scalp the required oxygen to replenish the hair growth. Kapalbhati is also known to aid in digestion, which in turn also promotes healthy hair.
Directions to do Kapalbhati: Seat yourself comfortably on a yoga mat. Make sure your spinal cord is erect and the knee as well as palm is facing downwards. Now exhale through your nose while pulling in your stomach muscles inwards to the spinal cord. Breathe out while relaxing your stomach muscles. Repeat the process in quick motion. Start off by doing this around 50 times then increase it. People suffering from high blood pressure, heart issues or hernia should avoid this asana.
Bhastrika Pranayama:
Sit in Padmasana posture, place your hands over your knees and inhale forcefully with both nostrils. Fill in your lungs completely and then exhale with full force while making a hissing sound. This asana requires forceful breathing which needs the chest area to blow up and not the abdomen. Bhastrika pranayama has to be done 5 times a day. This asana helps to benefit your chest, lungs, nervous system and respiratory system.
Anulom Vilom Pranayama:
This asana helps greatly to calm your mind by eliminating the free radicals produced during stress and it also helps to circulate the oxygenated blood throughout the body. This multiple benefits to the body translate into healthy hair growth by nourishing the scalp.
Directions:
Sit in Padmasana posture, spinal cord erect and cover your left nostril with your left thumb. Inhale through your right nostril and then close your right nostril with your index finger and exhale through your left nostril. Repeat the technique with your other nostril, this is one cycle. Repeat this asana for three minutes initially then extending it to 20 minutes gradually.
Bhramari Pranayama:
Bhramari asana helps to invigorate your beauty, reduces stress, and relieves migraine pain, hypertension and helps to relieve several other diseases which in turn promote good hair growth too.
Directions:
Sit in padmasana, and then cover both the ears with your thumb. Keep you index finger on your forehead and with the rest three fingers cover your eyes. Inhale with both the nostril gently and slowly. Exhale with both nostril while making a bee buzzing sound through your throat. Repeat it for 5-10 times.
