Kelly Ripa’s Diet Plan

Kelly Ripa is a 42 year old mother of three, but she manages to maintain a ripped body with good workouts and healthy food. Check out the Kelly Ripa diet secrets, from the most important foods she eats every day to the treats she allows herself when she’s feeling peckish.

The Live! with Kelly and Michael star hasn’t given up cheesecake, but her daily workouts and mostly healthy diet keep her in great shape.

Kelly Ripa Diet Secrets

Her healthy meals have a deeper reason than just staying healthy and slim. Kelly Ripa has a history of heart disease in her family, so her diet is based on fresh foods that don’t clog the arteries.

Fresh and simple meals are the staple of Kelly Ripa’s diet, with lots of leafy greens, fruit and Greek yogurt.

“If I’m having a sliced chicken breast, I’d put it on a bed of simple sauteed spinach with a little bit of lemon and olive oil. I’m not too big on sauces. I just want the taste of the food”, Kelly Ripa told Shape magazine.

Keeping the flavors natural is a big part of Kelly Ripa’s diet, but she also indulges in some treats, especially cheese.

“I realized that cheese is the foundation of what I eat when I gave it up and went ‘I can’t eat any of this! Who wants a turkey sandwich without cheese?’”, she said, adding that giving up cheese for Lent was a really miserable experience.

The secret to a healthy breakfast is Greek Yogurt with fresh fruit and honey, according to the blonde TV star. The Kelly Ripa diet menu wouldn’t be complete without her homemade lavender honey, made from simply adding dried lavender to honey and letting the aromas infuse it.

Moderation is a key factor in Kelly Ripa’s diet and the blonde beauty explained she wouldn’t say no to cheesecake or Girl Scout cookies, but in a reasonable way: “I could have three or four ‘cheat days’ in a week and then not have dessert for another three months”.

Kelly Ripa’s Workout

The healthy diet keeps her energy levels high for her daily morning show, but Kelly Ripa also credits her workout for her great shape. While she doesn’t exhaust herself with vigorous training every day, she doesn’t take any break on weekends and goes for easier workouts.

“I work out with a trainer, Anna Kaiser, three days a week. We do what I would call cardio ballet an power yoga. I take spinning classes at Soul Cycsle, which I love, and I run”, she explained to Good Housekeeping magazine.
