Rebecca Romijn flaunts her bikini body on the latest cover of Health Magazine July/August 2020. In the interview, the 39-year-old actress shares her tips and tricks for a happy, successful life. The gorgeous former model reveals her secrets to losing baby weight and staying fit and full of energy. “I’m really not about deprivation. If I want a piece of pie, I mean, come on — you have to enjoy life! Especially if you have kids. I usually keep Sunday for whatever-you-want-to-eat day,” she says.
Romijn also considers that working out is a great way to stay happy. “Especially cardio and yoga. It’s a big part of my recipe for happiness,” the actress admits.
And dancing as well. “My mom used that as a tool to work herself out of a bad mood. I remember dancing around the house to ‘We Are Family.’ I’m introducing the girls to the Beatles and Stevie Wonder. We have a little disco ball in our living room; we love our dance parties,” Rebecca says.
Dishing on her method of getting gorgeous in 5 minutes, the lovely actress explains that, “I just put on eye cream, a bit of moisturizing gel, and sunscreen. I like O-Gloss by Smashbox. It comes out clear, but it turns a shade of pink based on your skin. I use two mascaras. You know that Kiss Me stuff [now called Blinc]? It coats your lashes; I use it on the bottom, then MAC on top, and cover with Kiss Me to keep from smudging. That’s my recipe for not looking like a raccoon!”
Rebecca Romijn’ secret for working out harder? Music. “I really like listening to music when I’m hiking or exercising. I don’t like hearing myself breathe. I’m like, ‘Am I dying? I think I’m breathing too hard. This is bad. I’m sure this is bad. I should slow down.’ [Laughs] I really don’t do myself any favors,” she says.
One of Rebecca’s new fave recipes is “roasted vegetables with Parmesan and olive oil and lemon juice.” “You can do it with asparagus, broccoli, or green beans. You sprinkle them with a little bit of olive oil and sliced garlic and salt and pepper, roast them in the oven so they get a little bit crispy, then take them out and put some Parmesan and lemon juice on them. So good,” she explains.
But how does she deal with cravings? “I use the apple trick. If you’re sitting in front of the TV and just want something to munch on, I’ll go for an apple. Refrigerated Fuji apples, nice, crisp, sweet. Man I love ’em. Eating apples is good on so many levels. There’s fiber in the skin that’s really good for you. It helps with digestion and helps you absorb all the nutrients of everything you’ve eaten that day. Apples are a really good thing,” the actress told Health.
Romijn also reveals her go-to for losing the last 5–10 pounds saying that, “There’s a cranberry flaxseed water recipe I drink. I’ll make a liter of it and try to get through that in a day. (I also eat clean. I’m not into the ‘not eating’ thing.) You have to shake it up every single time, to make sure you get some of the flax, and it’s like drinking a slightly sour water. I drink that for a week and it really helps flush fat.”
